Hello There! My name is Jaclyn Contreras and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with training in EMDR, play therapy (ages 4 and up), and a focus of Choice Theory. My objective is to help you at any age, feel heard, valued, and understood. My perspective to counseling is that life is full of choices and we must utilize the choices that benefit us to thrive and do away with choices that hinder our happiness.

My personal goal is helping you, as a client fully understand your choices, and help in your process to a happier and more fulfilled you.

I obtained my Bachelors of Integrative Studies at the University of North Texas, with my focus on Psychology, Behavior Analysis and Development and Family Studies. Here, I was part of many on campus clubs and a member of Alpha Delta Pi.

I obtained my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Southern Methodist University in 2018.

I have worked in a variety of places such as advocacy centers, schools, and non-profits. When not working I enjoy reading fantasy novels, upping my Korean skin care routine, and hanging out with my husband and two cats.
